Parking at ILIR
The Institute is located at 504 E. Armory Avenue in Champaign, at the corner of
5th and Armory. You may see the location on a campus map at

There is a great deal of construction and confusion in our immediate area, and parking is at a premium. Where possible, we ask that you share rides with your recruiting team to avoid issues.
ILIR has three rented spaces. Two are in lot C8, which is not marked on the map above since it has recently been added back into the campus parking list. It is located to the north of the gated parking lot that is just north of our building and accessible only from 5th street. It is a very small strip of parking lot with one driving lane and a row of parking on either side. The spaces are 39 and 40, and are marked with a yellow sign.
Our third rental space is in lot C9 at the southwest corner of 6th and Chalmers. You will also see that marked on the map referenced above. The space is 83, and faces west towards the vacant lot with construction equipment.
If these three spaces are taken, please do NOT PARK in any other rental spaces. You may be towed. You may proceed to the back dock of the ILIR building, enter the building, and ask for a parking pass for a university meter from our staff in the main office on the second floor. Someone will be available starting 30 minutes prior to your morning schedule. If you receive a parking pass for a university meter, it will be valid for any metered spaces in University lots, or along 6th street south of Armory. The spaces next to the building are NOT University meters - they belong to the City of Champaign.
Additionally, all parking meters on campus take quarters and you may find your own street parking. Many meters have two hour limits, but the meters along 6th street south of Armory will accommodate longer time periods. Coming to Campus
To request dates: Contact Wendy Gooch at 217-333-2777 or wgooch@uiuc.edu to schedule on-campus interviews at ILIR. She can also reserve a room for an information session, but you will be responsible for reserving audio visual equipment and catering.
Information sessions: To reserve audio visual equipment at Levis Faculty Center, contact the Facilities Manager at 217-333-6241. Classic Events is their in-house caterer and can be reached at 217-333-3435. You may mail materials for your information session directly to Levis Faculty Center (919 W. Illinois, Urbana, IL 61801). Please mark “Hold for: Company name and date.”
If you prefer, the Illini Union (1401 W. Green, Urbana, IL 61801) also has rooms for information sessions. You can reserve a meeting room at 217-333-0691 and order from their catering service at 217-333-0126.
Managing your schedule: Please contact Wendy Gooch with questions about on delegating jobs, choosing preselections, viewing resumes and schedules. Please delegate your job/s to your schedule as soon as possible and be aware of your preselection deadline.
Interview Location: Interview schedules are held in our building - the Institute of Labor & Industrial Relations (504 E. Armory Ave., Champaign, IL 61820). When you arrive, please come to the Reception Office in Room 247. Nell Madigan, ILIR Assistant Director & Career Services Coordinator or another staff member will greet and assist you. We will have a final schedule and packet of resumes for you.
Getting to and Around Champaign-Urbana
Flying: Three major airlines serving four metropolitan airports in Chicago, Cincinnati, Detroit and St. Louis all have flights into Willard Airport (CMI). Avis, Budget, Hertz and National all have rental car terminals at the airport.
Driving: Champaign is approximately a three hour drive from Chicago, St. Louis, or Indianapolis. Click for directions from these cities. You can also access campus and city maps.
