Labor and Industrial Relations Association
Who are we?
The Labor and Industrial Relations Association was created to provide a forum for students at the School of Labor and Employment Relations to participate in social, volunteer, fundraising and alumni relations activities. LIRA promotes and organizes its activities and events through student committees and is also responsible for the election of LER student representatives for School Committees.
What do we do?
A new service provided by LIRA to new students and guests to LER is the LER Welcome Book. Please follow the link to learn more about our campus and community.
LIRA sponsors and participates in a wide variety of events at the School of Labor and Employment Relations. The purpose of our events is to advance the student body of LER both academically and socially. LIRA also strives to promote the name and reputation of the School of Labor and Employment Relations at University of Illinois to the University, community and beyond with all of its activities.
LIRA Activities Include:
o Annual LIRA Formal Ball
o Fall Welcome Back BBQ
o T-shirt/Sweatshirt Sales
o "Speed 'Viewing" Interviewing Workshop
o Spookghetti Dinner Halloween Fundraiser

To get involved, students can attend LIRA general meetings and/or committee meetings. General meetings are announced via e-mail. Students that cannot attend general meetings can contact any LIRA officer or committee chair for information on upcoming general meetings, committee meeting times, and projects.
