Current Responsibilities
Ms. Martyn is responsible for Student Services and Career Services at the School, with duties including: mentoring students and aiding in their recruitment efforts, guiding students in regards to their resumes and interviews, assisting with corporate visits and workshops, as well as answering any questions or concerns students may have. She is also responsible for the content and maintenance of the LER webpage. Additionally Laura is also responsible for the planning events and reaching out the Students of LER to ensure they receive all of the resources necessary for their success. In addition to her responsibilities at LER she serves on the campus-wide Career Services Council and Chief Communications Officer's committee.
Past work Experience
Worked as Student Services Manager then Operations Manager at Kaplan Test Prep and Admission Counseling in Downtown Chicago. Responsible for management of 20+ office staff members (with an additional 100+ part time teachers) including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, payroll, staffing, benefit enrollment, coaching and documenting corrective action of staff. Developed services procedures to help ensure benchmarks were exceeded and students’ career and educational goals were met.
Personal Interests
Avid sports watcher, especially Chicago Bears! I enjoy cooking, traveling, outdoors and being with family and friends.
