Financial Aid

A number of financial aid packages are available from ILIR and the University of Illinois. The Institute's Director and the Admissions and Financial Aid Committee select financial aid recipients on the basis of academic excellence. Some fellowships are sponsored by various organizations, corporations, and alumni funds, and are designated for students in a particular area of interest or from a minority group. The R. Wayne Anderson Family Fellowship, established by former Senior Vice President for Human Resources at Amoco, R. Wayne Anderson (A.M. 65) is available to one student each year based on financial need. Additionally, there are a number of endowed fellowships at the Institute. ILIR financial aid is extremely competitive with that offered by other universities.

Corporate fellowships are combined with tuition and fee waivers from the Institute, for an entire package of aid totaling between $15,000 and $30,000, depending on in-state versus out-of-state tuition. Check out the most recent recipients and sponsors in Corporate Fellowship Programs.

There is no separate form on which to apply for financial aid. If you wish to be considered for financial aid, indicate your interest in question 18 of the application for admission to the Graduate College.

Financial aid and employment opportunities across the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign campus are available through the Office of Student Financial Aid. See www.finaid.uiuc.edu for more information. When seeking financial aid outside the Institute, apply directly to the unit that might have an interest in your specific skills. The Graduate College also provides an assistantship clearinghouse that posts graduate hourly positions and graduate assistantships. See www.grad.uiuc.edu/GSAC/clearinghouse/index.html for more information.

For the 2007-08 academic year, in-state (resident) tuition and fees were $12,950 and out-of-state (non-resident) tuition and fees were $21,290.
